URBAN RESOURCES, RURAL BEAUTY

The Dartmouth/Upper Valley Region combines a pristine, natural environment with all the amenities of a growing population center. Dartmouth College and the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center - a major medical center serving the entire northern New England region - offer a highly desirable setting for health care study and research. Other medical institutions and organizations throughout the region are affiliated with The Institute program, offering places for students to do their field experience or pursue further research.

The attractive lifestyle available here, with its balance of urban amenities and rural charm, is also responsible for the region's robust growth and economic health. Skiing, hiking, canoeing, and all other types of outdoor activities are accessible practically from one's doorstep, while an enviable selection of films, concerts, art exhibitions and other cultural events are offered year-round. Meanwhile, the urban centers of Boston, New York, and Montreal are easily reached from Hanover by car, bus, or plane.
