Chris Stuecklen Institute Student Support Fund
The Chris Stuecklen Institute Student Support Fund was established in February 2002 in memory of Chris Stuecklen. As a six-year employee of The Institute, Chris provided direct administrative support to the Ph.D. program for a number of years. She enjoyed working with and supporting the graduate education program in this position and later as The Institute Computer Systems Specialist. Upon her passing, the Chris Stuecklen Institute Student Support Fund was established to provide interest free emergency loans to students enrolled in Institute graduate programs. These loans are designed to provide students with emergency funds needed for such things as minor car repairs, computer repairs, etc., and are required to be paid back to the loan fund prior to graduation or within nine months of the loan, whichever comes first. These loans are interest free and the loan fund itself is supported by donations and contributions from faculty, staff and alumni of Institute education programs.
Students seeking funds for emergency purposes will submit a written request via e-mail to the Operations Director of The Institute explaining the nature of the emergency, the amount of funds required, and the plan for payback of the loan. If approved by the review committee, the funds will be issued to the requesting student within 24 hours of approval on a weekday and within 72 on a weekend.
In order to provide this support service our students, we encourage faculty, staff, alumni and other interested donors to make contributions to the Chris Stuecklen Institute Student Support Fund. This can be done by the means of a check made out to the "Hitchcock Foundation" with "Chris Stuecklen" added to the memo line of the check, and mailed to:
